A William Morris design 'Little Tree - Hammersmith' rug. Hand-tufted wool on cotton, with stylised floral border enclosing a central panel of scrolling flowers and leaves. 232 x 150 cm ( 7.4 x 4.9 ft ). Whilst the original William Morris rugs ( pioneer of the Arts and Crafts movements ) costs thousands of pounds and hard to come by, the ones made to the specification of his design with the good quality craftsmanship is a must have, especially when the price is reasonable. This hand knotted design was made in Nepal and has all the colours and design attributes associated with William Morris hammersmith rug. It is in good condition with having new canvas stitched at the back in order to protect it further.
