Genuine antique handmade wool Turkmen Hatchli rug circa 1880 measuring 145 x 117 cm ( 4.7 x 4.2 ft ). Central panels each decorated with geometric motifs in light red background surrounded with the geometric borders in pale cream and grey colours. This Hatchly is one of the original from the region with fine weave and soft shimmy wool. These types are very sought after and good condition ones sell high! The condition of the rug is very good considering its age and has remained consistent in pile, both ends secured and it has been cleaned and washed.
