Very attractive and fine handmade wool Turkmen Bokhara rug circa 1920 measuring 210 x 155 cm ( 6,9 x 5 ft ). Rows of Guls or hexagonal motifs each decorated with various coloured objects in Abrash pink , Orange and red background field. The velvet and shimmy wool surface and dense foundation indicative of rug to be one of the high quality from the Turkmenistan. Although almost 100 years old rug has good consistent pile with some minor wear. From the main field one can see the colour variation around the centre where vegetable dyed wool used showing slightly lighter and darker colours. The rug has been professionally cleaned and washed and restored whereby the outer borders in four corners redone and secured ( I have added many photos for you to check these ). In my personal view and as a collector of Turkmen rugs for the past 40 years, this is a fantastic piece in reasonable price.
