Very fine handmade 100% silk Turkish Hereke rug circa 1970 measuring 114 x 75 cm ( 3.7 x 2.4 FT ). Mehrab design decorated with the birds and floral objects having inscriptions in both field and borders. There are embossed silk silver gilts woven and the field is very attractive. It was used as a wall hanging decor and has remained in good overall condition considering its age. A lovely decorative piece.
