Rare and beautiful antique Tekke Turkmen wool rug circa 1920 measuring 190 x 123 cm ( 6 x 4 ft ). Rows of hexagonal motifs each decorated with geometric objects in rich pink background colour having similar geometric borders. This Tekke rug is one of the good quality rug from the region and although has got almost 100 years of age but remained as vibrant and gorgeous with very shimmy wool and stunning abrash pink colours. Generally in good condition with the consistent pile having some restoration on one side with some repiling. The rarity of colour and weave makes the rug very desirable and decorative piece amongst Turkmen rugs. It has been professionally cleaned and washed with both ends original fringes being secured.
