A stunning and rare handmade wool and cotton Azerbaijan Kilim from the region of Baku circa 1880 measuring 510 x 150 cm ( 16.7 x 4.9 ft ). Central bold and hexagonal motifs each decorated with geometric objects in outstanding multicoloured pastel field having similar narrow borders. Interesting features about this kilim are two paradiseBirds at both ends which have hardly seen in these types Kilims. This is one of the original and high quality Kilim from Baku and hardly such colours seen in open market. ideal for long and wide corridors as well as staircases and areas of need of combination of antique and contemporary look. For many years I have sourced rugs and kilims around the world and hardly came across such beautiful piece and am sure will not see similar for the foreseeable future!? This Kilim must not be overlooked and I strongly recommend if space and money permits do not miss on it!?
