Handmade wool and cotton Persian Sirjan Kilim Sofreh measuring 103 x 102 cm ( 3.3 x 3.3 ft ). Geometric design having multi colour palettes accented by reds, blues, green amongst others. Sirjan is a city in Kerman Province south of Iran where most of the flat weave Kilims and Sofreh ( used as groundcloths—common in Sirjan nomadic culture ) were made by Afshar Nomadic tribes. Their main characteristic is that they are tightly interwoven wrap and weft with durable textile which can be used both for cover flooring or practical seating mats. Colours also as seen in this Kilim vary and quite vibrant. This Kilim is in good condition.
Sirjan kilims are more than floor coverings—they are vibrant pieces of I'ran’s nomadic heritage, handcrafted by women, full of cultural motifs, and both functional and collectible.
