A magnificent handmade wool antique Persian Khamseh rug circa 1900 measuring 273 x 141 cm ( 8.9 x 4.6 ft ). An eye-catching and detailing field of boteh and floral motifs interlinked and decorated with multi-coloured objects in the deep blue background. This is one of the very high quality Khamseh rug compare to many I have seen and believing me I have seen a lot of them. The foundation so thin and dense and it seems very high quality wool had been used. Generally pile is good and consistent with few professional repiling done in the centre and few motifs otherwise extremely sought after and attractive piece.
