Contemporary handmade wool room size Afghan or Egyptian Ziegler rug measuring 280 x 178 cm ( 9 x 5.9 ft ). All over floral field having pale cream , ivory and rose red motifs colours with similar floral borders. The label in the back indicates the rug was made in Egypt which is one of the possibilities since these hand knotted typed have been made in factories all over Middle East. In particular Afghan refugees also have made Ziegler rugs since early 80's whereby have become very much part of decor style used by Western world. Ziegler rugs are very robust and hard wearing at the same time decorative having muted colours and less overpowering floral designs. This rug is a great example of the type and has remained in good condition throughout with the consistent pile being professionally cleaned and washed ready to furnish your home.
