Very sought after and collectable antique handmade wool Persian Malayer / Farahan rug circa 1900 measuring 145 x 100 cm ( 4.5 x 3.2 ft ). Central medallion surrounded by floral motifs in dark blue background having multiple bands of borders in light orange and light ivory colours. This extremely fine piece well over 100 years old and has very thin foundation hardly seen in the newer Malayer or Farahan rugs from the same region. It has been cleaned and washed with both ends protected by sewn cloth. I have hardly seen similar quality in the open market in good overall condition.
