Very attractive and rare found is this antique handmade wool Persian Bidjar ( Halvai ) rug circa 1880 measuring 220 x 160 cm ( 7.5 x 5.4 ft). An eye catching central anchor Pendants medallion having two hanging lanterns in either side in Camel open field, having four geometric corners in blues and red secluded by similar motifs in red borders. This Sturdy rug is a prime example of Bidjars made in mid to late 19th century and although has similar look to the Sarab rugs from the region but the weave is pre much indicative of Bidjar rugs. It is in usable condition with good overall low piles only few patches of localised wear showing mainly in the center areas. Both Salvages were redone and ends are secured. Professionally cleaned and washed and ready to furnish your home.
