Extremely decorative Persian Kurdish rug from small town of Mosel circa 1960 measuring 205 x 140 cm ( 6.4 x 4.5 ft ). All over bold floral motifs in the midnight blue main field having antique red borders with similar objects. Town of Mosel near the borders of I'ran and Iraq has been actively involved in rug making for over century. Generally bold motifs in dark but rich dyed colours were used and have very much similarities with the Arts and crafts rugs made in the UK and Ireland. Perhaps this is one of the main reasons that why these rugs have been very much to the taste of western markets. This rug is truly decorative and has remained in very good condition with both original end kilims.
