A genuine antique handmade wool Khamseh rug circa 1900 measuring 193 x 140 cm ( 6 x 4.5 ft ). A central medallion having detailed motifs including birds, geometric and trees with similar complex borders. This fantastic piece is a prime example of tribal Khamseh rugs of early 20th century and earlier with such fine and dense foundation and extremely decorative look. Naturally worn and faded over the course of time it is truly a unique piece. Condition wise as mentioned faded but still colours nicely muted. There are two repairs shown in photos to strengthen the rug up, Both ends secured and well preserved. Very interesting antique piece.
