During most parts of mid 20th century, the period of prosperity and peace was gathering pace under ex-Persian Monarch Pahlavi. In this period many high quality handmade Persian rugs were made in which the carpet makers were reflecting these positive events in their weaves. Among those wonderful pieces made, comes this decorative antique Kashan rug circa 1940 with its marvellous central vases decorated with detailed floral objects in the rich midnight blue field and surrounded by pictorial borders elevating sought after historical places and ancient sightseeing. Measuring 205 x 138 cm ( 6.6 x 4.4 ft ) it has defied age and remained in excellent condition.
