Good quality old handmade wool Persian Karaja / Heriz rug circa 1940 measuring 191 x 151 cm ( 6.3 x 4.9 ft ). Three diamond shaped central medallions all decorated with geometric motifs in light brown background surrounded with similarly design borders in midnight blue colours. This is a good quality Karaja rug made near the village of Heriz in the North West. Colours seem to be pastel and the natural lighting might have reduced its original bright colours. Nevertheless it is a fabulous rug with very interior decorative effect in good overall condition.
