An attractive little handmade wool old P'ersian karaja / Heriz rug circa 1930 measuring 135 x 106 cm ( 4.4 x 3.4 ft ). Three central Heksagonal medallions each decorated with geometric motifs in an antique red background surrounded by narrow borders having various objects in midnight blue. This rug appears to be one of the finer piece from the North West of Iran having dense weave and beautiful natural dyed wool. It has been professionally cleaned and washed and both ends trimmed and secured. Pile is consistent with age with no patches of wear. Very beautiful piece indeed.
