An attractive handmade wool antique Afghan Ersari room size rug circa 1900 measuring 297 x 220 cm ( 9.7' x 7' ). Rows of Gul motifs decorated each with various colourful objects in rusty red field surrounded with similar patterned borders. This is one of the finer and decorative Ersari rugs with tight weave and lovely colours. It has been professionally cleaned and washed with both ends secured. Pile is consistent and good with very minor wear expected due to the age and usage. Very fine Afghan rug belonging to early 20th century in reasonably affordable price.
