This is an extraordinary rare and exquisite extra large handmade Kurk wool Persian Sarouk rug measuring 615 x 345 cm ( 20' x 11' ) circa 1920. A magnificent dark blue field decorated with spnadarles and pointed floral objects in the colourful gold and red amongst other colours. Surrounded by an eyecatching multi borders with similarly patterned motifs this magnificent old rug has defied age with its splendour look. Even with almost 100 years of age it remains in very good condition with the consistent pile and viberant colours.
