An excellent handmade antique wool Tekke Turkmen rug circa 1890 measuring 325 x 224 cm ( 10.6 x 7 ft ): Rows of hexagonal motifs each decorated with geometric objects in a very rich abrash red colours with shades of blues, and whites. The density ion weave indicates the rug is one of the finer and original piece belonging to the late 19th century. Generally in good condition with the consistent pile have some localised wear commensurate with the age and usage. One small repair at the one end and one small patch of repiling. This rug has been professionally cleaned and washed with both ends secured. A fantastic antique Turkmen rug ready to decorate your room.
