Persian handmade Kurk wool and silk Pictorial Esfahan rug measuring 170 x 102 cm 140 x 140 cm( 5.6 x 3.3 ft ). Pictorial field depicting figures reminiscent of classical P'ersian artwork from stories in P'ersian literature ( Khosrow and Shirin, Layla and Majnun mainly inspired by famous Poet Rumi. The rug has some age and it seemed had been used as a hanging decor as most of these types do hence remained in very good condition. Colours are exceptional and condition very good with no obvious defect. Both end silk fringes have been protected with cloth sewn at the back and can be easily removed if desired. Not sure if benefits from very light wash but I would leave it for the time being. Quality of the back indicates it is one of the finer of the type with very high density weave.
