An attractive handmade Persian wool Farahdombeh rug circa 1970, measuring 236 x 160cm (7.7' x 5'). A field decorated with eye-catching floral motifs in multicoloured theme. Farahdombeh is a small village in the Bakhtiari province in central Iran famous for making some of the most decorative and distinctive designed rugs in Iran, inspired from paintings during the Europe renaissance. There are also similarities between Farahdombeh and Armenian rugs, due to the fact that from the centuries ago, there were and still are in less extend Armenian population co-habited in this region. This rug is in very good overall condition even though it has a bit of age to it.
