A beautiful and finely hand-knotted Turkmen Tekke main carpet, Circa 1890 measuring 280 x 230 cm (9'2" x 7'7").
This impressive tribal carpet features the iconic Tekke Gul design repeated across a rich madder-red field, framed by multiple traditional borders displaying classic Turkmen motifs. The weaving is fine and balanced, giving the rug an elegant appearance while retaining the strength and character of authentic Turkmen craftsmanship.
The wool has developed a lovely soft handle and attractive natural patina over the years.
