Antique Turkmen Hatchli handmade wool rug circa 1880
Genuine antique handmade wool Turkmen Hatchli wool rug circa 1880 measuring 130 x 116 cm ( 4 x 3 ft ). A panel cross field decorated with geometric motifs having similarly detained borders. This Hatchli rug was made by Turkmen tribes in late 19th century and is one of the original pieces seen from the region. Red hot colour still well intact and weave is of quality. It has been professionally cleaned and washed with some localised wear but nothing major. Both ends secured. There is a strong cloth sewn across one end indicating rug was used as hanging decor hence remained in good overall condition.
