Genuine antique handmade wool Persian Khamseh rug circa 1910 measuring 190 x 157 cm ( 6.2 x 5.1 ft ). Panels of diamond shaped medallions each decorated with objects in rich blue background field having much detailed motifs in lovely red, Ivory, blue amongst other colours in the border. This is one of the original Khamseh rugs made by tribal nomad travelling in the South west of I'ran. Rug generally in good condition with some local wears commensurate with age, it has been professionally cleaned and washed and both ends secured. Very attractive and fine piece belonging to the early 20th century.
