Very attractive and extremely fine handmade wool village Tekke Turkmen room size rug circa 1880 measuring 290 x 225 cm cm ( 9.5 x 7.3 ft ). Rows of Guls or hexagonal bold motifs each decorated with various coloured objects in vintage antique reds background field. This genuine fine tekke Turkmen is one of the original village weave from the region. Well over 100 years old still has good pile and lovely colours to decorate any interior. Soft wool and dense foundation indicative of the quality of the rug. This lovely Tekke rug has been professionally cleaned and washed with some restoration in few guls such as repiling and textile colouring. Both ends secured and rug looks fab considering age. There are some localised wear commensurate with age and usage.
