Antique handmade wool Caucasian Perpedil rug circa 1890 measuring 145 x 110 cm ( 4.7 x 3.6 ft ). Central motifs consisting Ram's horn shape design decorated with other objects in deep midnight blue field and surrounded with kufic borders. The distinctive features of the Perpedil rugs are harmonising colours which are richer than some of the other Caucasian rugs. The rug was professionally cleaned and washed and has both original ends and apart of some wear in the middle of the couple of motifs is in good condition despite its age. Very decorative piece indeed.
