An antique handmade wool Persian Isfahan rug circa 1910 measuring 210 x 140cm (6.8' x 4.5' ). Pointed central medallion decorated with various motifs surrounded by floral motifs in an abrash red field and secluded by similarly busy deep blue borders. These types of rugs were made in region called Mobarakeh ( Shah Reza ) located 20 km south of Isfahan. The regional weavers predominantly used naturally dyed abrash wool colours which in effect creates an amazing shades of light and rich colours as seen in this rug. It has been professionally cleaned and washed with having a consistent pile in very good condition with both ends complete and secure. An attractive rug from the early 20th century.
