A mid 20th century Afghan handmade wool prayer rug measuring 120 x 70 cm ( 3.9 x 3.2 ft ). A Mehrab design with 5 central diamond shaped medallions in rich red background having geometric all over borders. This Afghan rug described as prayer rug has good pile and in generally good condition. There is a shades of darker colour at one border known as abrash and it is when different shade of wool used during weaving. It is a nice decorative piece.
