A quality handmade wool room size Afghan gold rug circa 1950 measuring 390 x 305 cm ( 12.7 x 10.2 ft ). Rows of Gul motifs each decorated in the gold and copper background colours. This Afghan gold rug is typical design refelcting Afghanistan deep rooted weaving tradition. Soft wool with finely woven foundation is what you normally discover in these types. They are highly decorative and blend well with the room ambiance as at times have some abrash copper colours mixed in the weave as seen in this rug. Rug is remarkably in good condition despite its age and even have both long end Kilims well preserved. Just very minor localised wear commensurate with the age. It has professionally been cleaned and washed ready to furnish your home.
